The Haven charity exists to improve the quality of life for people affected by breast cancer by providing personalised emotional, practical and physical support.
Five Havens operate throughout the country with a sixth to be opened in the West Midlands. Havens are day centres offering free programmes of personalised support to anyone affected by breast cancer.
This is a challenging opportunity for a dynamic and creative fundraiser to play a leading role in securing the funds needed to set up and run our sixth Haven in the West Midlands. The post is also responsible for raising awareness about The Haven amongst key stakeholder groups.
The Haven has received £2.5m from the Department of Health to establish a new centre in the West Midlands which is likely to be located in Solihull. This is a significant injection of money for a capital project, however, the on going challenge is one of establishing a presence in the region for sustainable income streams for the lifetime of the centre.
You will be an experienced fundraiser with a track record of securing significant funds from trusts, corporates, major donors, special events and the community.
Strong links and networks in the West Midlands area (particularly Birmingham and Solihull) will be of considerable benefit and help to ensure the success of this project.
You will have experience of leading a volunteer Fundraising Committee – providing structure and organisation to the project locally.
You will be innovative, energetic and enthusiastic with strong interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills. You will be an excellent planner and organiser.
